At the 63rd ICCA Congress in Abu Dhabi, Steen Jakobsen was honored with the Moises Shuster Award during the closing ceremony. In announcing the award, ICCA President Marta Gomes highlighted Steen’s remarkable contributions to both the business events industry and the ICCA community.

Steen Jakobsen's remarkable career in the business events sector spans several prestigious roles. He served as Director of the Copenhagen Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) for over 14 years, during which he also contributed to ICCA as a board member and 3rd Vice President from 2008 to 2014. In 2013, Jakobsen embraced an exciting new opportunity with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), where he spent nearly a decade managing Dubai Business Events (DBE).

"I am truly humbled to be recognized among the distinguished individuals who have received this award before me. A heartfelt thank you to the ICCA Board of Directors for this extraordinary honor." Said Steen Jackobsen

The Moises Shuster Award, named after one of ICCA’s founding fathers and past presidents, is ICCA’s most prestigious recognition. It is presented only to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the international meetings industry over many years.

Previous recipients of this distinguished award include industry leaders such as Ulrike von Arnold, Paul Flackett, Anne Wallin Rodven, Tom Hulton, Martin Lewis, and Ray Bloom from Europe; Greg Ortale from the Americas; and Connie Cheng and Anthony Wong from Asia-Pacific. Past ICCA Presidents Arnaldo Nardone, Pieter van der Hoeven, Christian Mutschlechner, and Tuula Lindberg have also received this honor, as has PCO pioneer Gideon Rivlin.
